I looks like they’re at least bending the springs and sharpening them in house, according to their release video. The rest looks strikingly similar to their Italian offerings though.

Kind of a waste of an adjustable pivot, right? No deep clip and flipper tab? I'm out.
Their pancake sheath is ambi. You just don’t get the embossed “smith and sons” logo facing out. I bought a couple when I got my first mudbug and they are great open topped slanted sheaths if they haven’t changed them. The sheath would be useless to me. I'm a lefty
Approx 10% of the population is said to left-handed
Why can't sellers/makers turn out 10% of their sheaths for left side carry?
Or a pocket knife sheath that is at least ambidextrous, because the knife is ... pretty much.
Of course I could have a custom sheath made but by the time I pay that "Lefty" tax, the price point is ridiculous
Same here. I love the GEC mudbugs but don’t care for the rounded edges of these or the screws. I’m sure they are fine knives.I guess we’ll find out. Sadly, I don’t like the new design nearly as much as the GEC-produced Mudbug, and the price is about $50 more, so this one’s not for me.
Not just the teal. All versions nowThe teal is sold out, so at least one person bought one.![]()
So they sold at least 4.Not just the teal. All versions now
Will be interested to see some more pics and reviews from forum members when these come in.
On a S&S thread on FB, some guys on there said something about GEC having quality control issues with the Mudbug, but I don't recall ever hearing that.
Looks like you can order the sheath either right handed or left handed when you order the knife. The sheath would be useless to me. I'm a lefty
