As many of you might remember I was pretty fond of the NO-E. It has always felt like one of the perfect medium sized blades to me. But the desire to try other INFI made me trade it about a year ago. I always figured that I could get another if desired. Well one of our own just helped me with that. Better pictures to come but behold the NO-E!

But since my last NO-E I have obtained a CG ASH1. I knew the ASH1 was bigger but I did not expect the difference to be so noticable. Here are some comparison shots.

When I first unsheathed my NO-E I had to do a double take. The blade seemed so skinny to me. This is, of course, because I have been using the CG ASH1 so much lately. The two knives do not even feel like they belong in the same category. The NO-E feels like a lean and mean middle weight while the ASH1 is a light heavy weight.

All I can say is that the Outlaw was one of those knives that I always regretted trading. I am very pleased to have it back.:D

congrats on bringing that back into the fold. i always associate you with the NO. i seem to recall your last one having canvas slabs. if i'm not off base, how do you like the linen in comparison?

I'll have to put it through it's paces but the first thing I noticed is that the handle doesn't feel as wide or blocky as my previous one. It fits in the hand nicely.

Still one of my all time favs. That and the BAe are 2 blades that I hope to aquire again.

Linen? Is that why the handles are so dark? I've only seen a few with the handles that dark and have always wondered why....they are linen rather than canvas?

Dang, if that's the case then that's 2 facts this past month about the older stuff I wasn't aware of. I must be slippin.

Sounds like the NO-e has gone full circle and has come back to stay for good :D

That's a sweet one....the ergo's always come back home...I got my Desert SH-e back and now it's staying put....that's my favorite mid weight knife....it just feels....right ;)

Nice lookin' NO-E!:thumbup: ...Congrats on bringin' it back home!! :D

I remember getting my first NOE and it was the perfect all rounder. You could wear it on your hip and not even know it was there until you needed it.

Congrats TL  I know you have missed your first one, glad to see one back home ;)

So will you eventually be getting rid of that ASH and staying with the NO-e, or do you think that they fill roles different enough that you'll keep them both?

I had an NO-E with handles similar to that. Very dark black. I believe they were linen, but nobody could confirm it for sure through the pictures. There's a thread about it with pics somewhere in cyberspace.

The NO-E is a sweet one. Nice score, Tyr.

I think I agree with that conjecture. The spine view bears that out.

I agree. Motion passed. :thumbup::D

I actually considered selling my NO-e, which has been with me for years now, because I am going to put my SJ LE into service.

Once I pulled out my old NO-e I just couldn't go through with it. I like the old style SJ more....but not much more.

Congrats on getting another NO-e!
