Return of the NO-E

So will you eventually be getting rid of that ASH and staying with the NO-e, or do you think that they fill roles different enough that you'll keep them both?

That remains to be seen. I have to put the NO-E through its paces first and really compare the two at tasks I am looking for a medium sized knife to do. I like them both for sure. I could easily see my self with an AK, FFBM, NO-E, and a smaller knife as a line up that would cover any and all bases. Which ever one I sell/trade will most likely go towards a smller EDC type blade. I am anxiously waiting to see what the Reg. and Baby Sar knives will be like. A Baby-Sar might just be a good fit for my small knife vacancy. So would a Meaner Street.

Anyhooo, I am stoked the NO-E has returned. Tonight the beatings begin. :D

Thanks for the comments HOGS.

I do not know of any E-models from the factory in Linen micarta, it may have happen without me noticing of course, I did do a little drinking back then.

Canvas, Paper and a natural material or two, is all I remember.

and this quote from the link in mike's thread...

Black canvas will have the rough texture you are familiar with, Linen has a visible pattern but often will look and feel smooth, and paper will have no discernable layering.

i'm glad someone knows what some of the configurations were. unfortunately i got my SH from the exchange and not the store, and the scale material wasn't specified in the thread. i hate to say it, but i had actually only noticed that they weren't canvas a few weeks ago. i just assumed they were linen when i finally noticed that they weren't canvas, but based on this i guess i've a paper handled SH-e.
