Return to... Active Duty!!! :o)

Jaxx,
I'm glad that you got the computer fixed and you are back online.

Those custom AD's of yours are great.

The AD is one of my all-time favorites as well. I only have a few but I hope to get more.

 Eric, where did those flat-ground knives come from?:thumbup: I don't think I have seen that version before. Does it have a special name? What is the thickness? Where can I get one? :D

Jaxx, that's the best duty collection I've ever seen!!! I'm sure Skunk has a couple laying around in his sock drawer as well.;)

I'm not into the coated duties very much... here's an old pic of one of my uncoated ones...

Well being a guy that reads tax codes alls day I’m a little picky about these things.:o

It is my understanding that ADs are .15, and the one I have is .15.

The 2007 SE Duties are .17

The Duties sold at the Co. Store all run just shy of .20 coated, like .190 to .197

The HD I had for a while was .20 coated

The customs I have are .17 uncoated.

I have never had an Off Duty:grumpy:

So I don’t know what most of these knives sold in 2007 are but they do not seem to be Active Duties, at .190+ coated they are way way closer to Heavy Duties.

So it is kind of like a "Heavy Active Duty".

I was under the impression the BCS ADs were closer to .17 and the Milganza ADs were around .197. I was looking at a Blk/Blk Rescue Mike got from the BCS and was comparing it to the Milganza Sage we both got and the BCS knife looked thinner. I'm at work till 11pm local so I'll have to check inthe morning. Unless someone else has some available right now and can confirm/refute my observations.

My BCS ADs are closer to .19 like Tony's.

These flat-ground ones were special ordered when the original Custom Shop AD was available. They were hand-ground by Jerry, they are 3 of a kind ;)

They are called "MINE" ;)

They are the only AD's I own, it took me about 4 years to get all of them. I bought 1 of them when they were first made, the other 2 were owned by someone else. I later was able to get them all together.

Before I posted I measured the knives I have that I refered to. I don't have any Milganza Duties so I think the Mils and the ones from the Company Store are the same thickness.

Sorry Tony. I was going off of what I have observed with the very few ADs that I have seen in person. It would appear my eyeball is not as calibrated as I thought.

By the way isn't that a Milganza Sage AD that I see in the third pic below the Custom with orange/black scales?

No that came from Skunk. I had a medical issue back at the time of the Ganzaaa and didn't buy any.:grumpy:

I think that Tony G is right about the thickness. Missed the Milganzaaa and bought one on the exchange. When they went up at the store, bought another to keep my 'Noah' thing going, pairs of a model. The only difference that I could find was the inspector's #, 8 and 13 respectively. A final note, Skunk's stock number was "HADSAGE", lending weight to Tony's idea that these are Heavy Active Duties. Note: Soon as I figure out the camera/computer system thing and upgrade to a membership, I'll bore you all with a few photos of my modest collection and attempts at sheath making. 'Till then, have fun. Pete

No argument about calling the thicker ADs Heavy Active Duties. I am liking the thicker version. Of course I have never handled a .15 or .17 AD so I have nothing to compare it to.
I was under the impression (maybe mistakenly) that the Sage and Muddy ADs and Meaners offred at BCS were leftovers from the ganza. Maybe Skunk can drop by and clear this up.

pmsayre153, looking forward to your pics

The Active Duty is definitely one of my favourites, this is my EDC; my stripped Milganzaa AD hasn't left my belt since I received it! that may change though once my AD-SE arrives!

Congrats on getting back online Jaxx!

Thanks for all the great AD pics too!

I believe the muddy & sage ADs from the company store are the milganzaaaa blades.
Every other combo that Stinky has put out has had the logo...
all except the muddy & sage MrSs & ADs.
So... that leads me to believe they are one and the same.

.

"Heavy Active Duty"? You mean I've been HAD? ;)

Welcome back Jaxx. Computer problems suck.
