You may remember this previous trip:

It ended up with a boat whose motor would not start, and getting towed back to shore.

So, we decided to give another try.

I had the Zero Tolerance 0392PURBLKWC with me:

Along with the Spyderco Szabohawk for safety...in case I needed to chop a hole in the bottom of the boat to escape through:

I also had the Zero Tolerance 0235 with me, because it is pretty cool. :)

They all work well for pointing at birds:

The water level is WAY higher than it used to be. This sign used to be on dry land, at around head height:

I also had the Ka-Bar Space Force TDI with me in case we hit a sudden space warp zone that flung us into another part of the universe unexpectedly; better safe than sorry! ;)

Lily pads:

Paddled to an old concrete ruin, but it was very overgrown compared to last time we went. From the channel on the other side, you could not even see it at all:

We went to an easier inlet to land at, and ate some muffins we brought with us. Time for assembled knife shot pic as well:

Sun was going down, so we embarked upon the ride home:

Woman was kayaking to the island as we left:

And that was about it. :)

We did not get stuck in the river this time (yay!).
When we got to the other side, we got to see how the rich folks living on Riverside Drive live, viewed from their backyard side...it is pretty sweet!
Automated jet-ski and boat launches, backyards set up for entertaining on a grand scale; looks like having truck-loads of cash is pretty great.
A few rich folks waved to us as we passed, because at that moment we were "boat people", and it is a bond that apparently transcends cash (although they didn't invite us for free steaks...bastards).

I was feeling pretty great though really.
A nice island cruise, not drowning in the river, with pockets and backpack full of fancy knives.
Can't ask for too much else.

Still waiting for the pics of Ginger and Mary Ann…I’ll scroll up and go thru again…

It’s good to see your pictures and stories again!

Looks like some sort of bloodthirsty piratical marine assault with knives and hatchet thingie .

But at least you brought a picnic lunch , so all is forgiven ! 😛

I think Ginger and Mary Ann were back at the Marina; looks like they got off the island. :D
Or they were about to go get stranded...they were on a boat...

Man, that just looks like a great way to spend a day!!

It was very nice. :)

I'd be more worried abut the boat swamping from all the steel than that.

When we went by raft (found at a yard sale for $6) we had our backpacks double bagged with garbage bags, along with a child-size life jacket. If we sank, wanted to make sure we floated out with all our stuff.

You need food of some sort or it isn't a successful adventure. ;)

It's all about counter-balance. In other words- an equal number of knives in each pocket.

Just gotta make sure YOU don't end up in the water. Glug glug. 😁

Science!!!

It happens. The River Gods appreciate gifts. 😢

Gotta appease them from time to time.

These are the knives my underwater knife fighting instructor recommends.

I had that knife!

At least he didn't point one at the woman in the kayak.

Indeed. Pointing for forum pictures is fine, but being a dick and freaking people out for no reason would not be cool.

Same Tim Hortons box as the one from 2019? Great shelf life! Must be all the sugar.

They must have decided the box is a classic design or something.
Now that I said that, they will make neon sparkle boxes next week.

Some excellent pointing

Thank you sir.
