Reverse Tanto should be more popular

I usually EDC a 942 and a 710s for work.

I recently picked up a 913D2 Stryker (assisted opener):

I didn't care for the way it almost jumped out of my
hand when opening, and the pressure need to close it.

I removed the torsion assist bar, a very simple process.
So now it's just a regular manual opening liner lock.

What a great knife!
3.5" D2 Spearpoint blade, titanium liner lock, full G10 scales.
Hefty feel in large hands, and still flicks open very fast.
(The 942 could have numbered days..)

I recently reviewed the Kershaw Random Leek (link below) and like the reverse tanto blade very much. For practical purposes, a reverse tanto is very much like a modified Wharncliffe, the only difference being the forward portion of the blade spine which is really just cosmetic ... but the reverse tanto's 'cosmetics' are quite handsome, IMO.

Reverse tanto seems mostly a marketing term. It's really more like a modernized spey blade. ;)

If you look at the edge of a reverse tanto and the edge, not top, of a Delica, aren't they pretty much the same? I'm looking at my Reverse Tanto Leek right now. Basically an wharncliffe edge with a bit of a rise towards the point is what I'm seeing.

wanna do this:

Steven Andrews did this over at the Benchmade forum.

Anyone else think this makes it look awesome and way better?

i like it a lot, i just received my first one the other day, its a kershaw random LE leek.

TWO THINGS:
1) The pictured 940 looks more like a SKINNER than anything else.
2) The TANTO pictures most people have in their heads do not really have a Japanese orgin but are the result of a dream Cold Steel's Lynn Thompson in the early 1980's.

To me these aren't really reverse tantos but modified clip points. Also, the tip won't be as strong as a regular tanto because it doesn't have the thickness of the spine behind it, it only has the thickness of whatever the primary grind is.
