• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

Reversing Harbor freight 1 x 30 sander?

Why do you want to reverse it? If the blade Catches don't you want it to go DOWN and cut your feet rather than go UP and cut your face?

Also all the removed material would go UP into your face as well.

My solution.... Turn the machine upside down. Seriously. Build a 2x4 table about 5 feet high, Bolt the damn thing upside down to the BOTTOM of the table. It now runs UP.

Thanks for the replies.

Yep, I didn't think of that. I could use it upside down. I'm using it for sharpening and thought that it would be nice if I could use the work rest to hold a constant (and known) angle.

I am not sure what the problem is with sharpening as it sits. I have always sharpened my knives edge up and only do edge down on when doing my final with a leather belt. Dave:confused:
