Review of the Benchmade 960 Osborne>>>>>>>

I think this knife is still available under the Harley Davidson brand model 13960. Unfortunately it has the godawful HD logo all over the blade, which seems out of place on the Gents knife category that the 960 seems to represent.

I have a 960 silver, but never carry it preferring the 940 or something just under 3" due to work restrictions.

Good review, its nice that you have a down-to-earth perspective. You should check out the Benchmade 943. Great lockup, solid-feeling scales, great blade shape, and s30v! I'd love to get one, but I wouldn't want to "use and abuse" a knife that pricey.

Really nice review John. I think anyone looking for a basic overview of a knife should be happy with your review.

I think the video is a plus, but could be shorter as part of your written review. This the case with all the video reviews I have watched, not just yours. About a minute looking at the knife closed, opening/closing, and then opened from several angles while in the hand is really all that I am looking for in a video. I find The 10 minute reviews that are out there to be almost unwatchable, but that's me.

FWIW, I think you could have used your written review as a script, included the 556 alongside the 960 like you did in the photos, and had a very tidy 3-4 minute video review for YouTube.

Good job!

Really? So you think the 940 is smoother/better? How so?

Sorry. I should have been clearer. It's not really any smoother or better in quality, just a bit larger and feels better in the the hands. I think someone else mentioned this as well. Based on my experience with the 960 and some influence from members of the forum, I went ahead and bought the 940 and for whatever reason like it better than the 960.

I checked out the 940, and it does seem bigger than the 960. Is it still a reasonable size to EDC as a pocket knife?

Yeah, I'd say it's quite reasonable. But it really depends on what your needs are and the environment you'll be in. Definitely not an office knife. In town, it's low profile enough not to draw too much attention. Say compared to a BM635 Mini-Skirmish with roughly the same blade length, they are two different animals. Personally, I tend to stick with 3 inch or less blades for EDC, but this one is an exception.
