review request: axis lock in M2 (710HS)

I still cant decide. I really want the performance of the M-2 but do not like coatings.

I'll probably break down and get one.

I imagine it wouldn't be too hard to disassemble the knife and sand off the coating (I've done this w/ bead-blasted blades), if you don't mind voiding the warranty.

Why not go ahead and get it, then send it somewhere to get re-coated?

I have pre prod model 247.

The steel is fantastic, the lock up rock solid, no blade play and great build quality. The knife is smooth and easy to open, the balence great. The only fault? When I open it, one of my fingers is pushed by the axis lock button on the opposite side. But I just need to readjust my grip for this knife. I don`t use it as it is a keeper as they say. I will get an M2 Axis or 940 if it is made in M2 with a combo edge at some point.
