It has no negative structural impact on the knife. Sending it back with a detailed description, return postage, and a receipt is one good way of getting it fixed. Bad ways, that is, the ways you'll be tempted to try before sending it in and hoping Angie doesn't notice that you've disassembled your knive, would include trying to tighten and loosen the various torx-screws holding the slabs together and taking the whole thing apart, using epoxy, and hoping that you didn't use too much and can reassemble it before the epoxy hardens and interferes with operation.
Being a Tabasco/capsaicin addict in recovery, I must agree with you about the food of the gods comment in your signature line. Lovecraft's K'thulu gods, but gods nonetheless.
