REVIEW: Rick Hinderer Investigator Pen

This is a very helpful thread, I just ordered an Extreme Duty in Brass and will compare it to my Umnumzaan as well. One of the things that sold me on the ED was the fact that the clip was not attached to the cap, I am worried it will be too big though...

I run an o-ring in the groove at the base of the cap threads on my Ti investigator, it reduces the number of turns to remove the cap and adds tension when it's tightened so that it takes more force to loosen the cap preventing it from unscrewing in my pocket. It may help keep water out as well my first investigator spring rusted out, refill wasn't damaged and it works without the spring just fine.

most recent pic (o-ring on the back end does the same thing, locking the cap in place while writing):

Hi there. I also just got my Hinderer Aluminum Investigator pen. It only came with 1 #36 o-ring. What size o-ring goes into the 10 slots on the rest of the handle.

thanks in advance. as the slots are too abrasive naked.
