Review: Spyderco Superleaf

For choils on my current Spydies-

The choil on the PM2 seems less obtrusive, and I think it is fitting on the Caly 3.5 because of the taper at the blade/handle juncture.
On the Chinook 3 it is unnecessary, particularly with the guard shaped into the handle.
Much more pleased with the GB, Walker CF, P'Kal, and Civilian.
The Lum Chinese could use one, imo.

The large choils on the Superleaf and Native 5 have pretty much removed my interest in the knives. Just one guy's opinion.

Got the Superleaf. Impressive piece! Will post more once I get a better feel for it. :)

Thanks for the review it was very helpful in making my decision.

Ordered the knife today, once I recieve the knife I'll give some feedback.

Can't wait!

Well I did get my new knife, but with a couple problems.

The knife I got wasn't the Superleaf but instead the SuperHAWK, fine they sent me a knife that's worth twice the amont instead, BUT it's a Sypderco copy.

Knife returned and I got my money back, thank goodness.

How'd you know?

We could solve all this talk of choils simply by bringing back the original Manix, which is what the SuperLeaf strongly reminds me of. Perfect ergos in every way. By god I wish I hadn't sold mine!

The SMF is an odd design to say the least. The shape of the handle pretty much makes a choil mandatory. I can only use mine by 'choking up' on the blade. I have no idea what shape hands the Strider fellows have but they aint human that's for sure.
