Reviews/opinions of Buck odyssey I?

I just ordered an ATS34 Buck Odyssey I and want to know if it locks solid and does the steel get those spots of corrosion? Any good/bad reviews?

whether you get the older style with the plastic backbone or the newer with the steel one,you'll have an excellent knife.i've had mine over a year.it works well,and sharpens really well.

I think I ordered the old one, it was a closeout from Somky Mountain Knife Works that only costed me $30.00! Anyway it says 182 c underneath buck on the blade and under that is ATS 34. It is all small writing, Not ATS 34 in big letters across the blade like on others. Copuld you help me Identify this as the old one or the new one?

i,ve gotthe same catalog.182 in my 1999 &2000
buck catalogs indicate the odyssey 2 w G 10
handles.the symbol next to the modle # is the
year code.check out bucks website for the full list of year codes.the one pictured is a 1999 modle.i dont know what youre going to end up with,so please add to this posting when you get it.you will be very happy with it

The Odyssey I ATS 34 just arrived today and it is the new version with the metal backbone! I cant belive it was only $30.00 when in the past catalog of Smoky Mountain Knife Works it was $47.99! BUY IT! I will post the order code $ smoky's phone # for it when I find the magazine.
