Revised hunter in Hawaiian Koa and Magnamax

Beautiful and practical. It's nice to see you posting knives. How thick is the handle?

Thanks, buddy - that’s a hard question to answer, as there’s considerable contouring, despite what the photo shows. The front portion of the handle has an oval contour, with flats at the bottom where the finger grooves are - I like the way it indexes. Behind the oval, about where the center pin is, there’s a ‘scallop’, but rather than being a hard transition the way most ABS guys do it, I prefer a sort of sweeping out transition, much like a parabolic contour extending out from the center of the scallop to all the edges, and the butt. There’s also a slight flat at the top of the handle, again because I like how it indexes, especially if the blade is held inverted, such as when opening the hide with the belly of the blade held to the underside of the skin.

Hi, John. As I’m not a paid member, it’s not my intention to ‘advertise’ what I make, rather just showcase it, I guess. I make very few knives, and prefer to focus on what I want to make, so I don’t take orders. I appreciate your interest, though! If it’s the material that interests you, I would gladly arrange to get some of it to a maker that works in similar materials - Josh Mazer aka navman navman comes to mind. If he’s interested in accepting a commission, I’m sure I can figure out a way to get a block of wood to him.
Appreciate the response and the kind gesture @mattew
I'm down to clown. Thanks for the shout out Matt!
Thanks Matthew Gregory Matthew Gregory . Greatly appreciated! I’ll reach out to navman navman
