I have a huge bowie by Ricardo Vilar that i would like to offer for sale -- the knife is unused and in new condition.

The Blade is 12" long 52100 high carbon steel and the OAL is 17.5". The handle looks like walnut (but, i must admit, i am not certain). Although very large, the knife is extremely well balanced and the fit and finish are what you would expect from an ABS student of Jerry Fisk. Ricardo's knives do not come up for sale very often.

The leather sheath was also made by the artist.

This knife would make a great camp knife and, you can rest assured, it is built to handle what you ask of it.

The first $725.00 offer takes it and this includes shipping CONUS. Payal add 3% and no trades, please.

Thanks,

KJO

The hamon is created when the blade is differentially heat treated; therefore, both rigid and flexible. The edge is heat treated so that it is more rigid while the spine is not heated to the same extent and is a little softer (more flexible). The hamon is generated at that area between the two "zones" of hardness.

i appreciate all of the complimentary comments

this is a heck of a knife -- and, it is priced to sell

you won't find this much quality steel for this low a price -- i just have some other projects that i'd like to fund and so, some "stuff" needs to go.

no trades, please, but if you don't think this is already priced fairly and would like to make an offer........ send me an email with what you are thinking

Someone buy this beauty! Before I do it...

kjo - maybe you could post a few more pics.

When was the knife made by the way? Is it stamped JS?

In any case, this is a screaming deal...

ok joss

here are a cpl of the detail

hope you all like them :D

the knife is about 2 yrs old and it was built before he got his JS rating (but it does look like he knew what he was doing......!!)

Thank God! That was casuing me way too much anxiety -- wanting something so badly that I just could not afford. Great Knife!!!

Guys, this is a great deal! I have one of his integral gaucho bowies, and it's really sweet. I'm trying to sell stuff right now, or I'd add it to my collection in a heartbeat.
