Richard Halloman - Rawhide Leather - SFNO LE Scout Sheath

THe updated pics make it even more enticing.

THats how I like to wear my knives...on a bandolier rig cross draw and that really works good.

THis may even be better.

I am also eating better and hope to be able to reach around behind me soon so I could wear it in center of back without sticking myself to re-sheath.:D

On a real backpack (not that NF daypack) the shoulder straps will be wider and probably have some looping and also have a belt with loops or webbing. More places to mount it. Upside down on the shoulder strap would be perfect. It's that secure with the magnets.

On a side note, I played around with my compass near the magnets. You have to be within an inch or two to effect it's reading. I don't see it as a concern for me.

Fantastic sheath. I have the standard leather and kydex for my SFNO LE but that Scout style is really nice. I like the magnet retention as well. The wear option pics really seal the deal. Thanks for sharing.

Scout carry really is a quite versatile. So many ways to attach it to things. I'm eyeballing my SJLE thinking it needs a scout sheath :)
Very happy with Rich's work!

Rich Holloman is one of the most talented Leather-smiths around. LMT66 is right on with his assessment and he is also correct about Rich's communication. The guy is just fantastic so if anyone reads this and is thinking about a custom sheath for their knives Rich is the guy. I did a great deal of research before purchasing two sheathes for mine and my wife's Tom Brown Tracker 1 and Tracker 2 knives. The only sheaths that come close are Hedgehog but they are priced much higher. Rich also has the quick draw where he uses rare earth magnets.. a great innovation. They are incorporated in the sheath and never touch the blade so no scratches.... Anyway... Im new to the forum so hello everyone.

Well the pics are gone, but I looked at the ones on his website. Mighty nice workmanship.

His sheaths are great! This thread is from 2009 so my pictures are long gone.
