Anyway I love the shape of this knife and fix my need very good!
When I bought this knife for the first time I had the problem with cut -performance!
On that time took me two weeks (water stone) to solve that problem!
The performance was better for good bat still I have problem on coating...
After a good sharpening on the knife I was so inpress that I strart to love this knife.
Unfortunately for the knife and good for me, I met a girl she made a proposal that I could not refuse....then the knife is gone.
I took me few months before bought a new one.
I bought a new one but I don't have time to fix by my self! I asked Richard if he could do the job and he did REALLY GOOD ONE.
Richard put the convex edge on + bead blast finished look terrific!!
I hope that the foto do some Justice but I don't think so.

About Richard is a good man, truly fast ,truly cheap:eek:

Thumbs up for Richard, he knows his stuff when it comes to sharp working edges.

That came out great !

TOPS do some great knives that are as tough as hell but their grinds always seem wrong eh !!!

The TOPS knives I own came with horribly thick edges that took me some time to remedy. I here nothing but good things about the edges Richard puts on his and others knives. The job he did on that one looks great, sure looks like a cutter now.

thanks for the compliments guys. the blade had a really thick edge and was slightly hollow ground. i made each side flat before convexing the edges. i didnt strip the blade until after i had it ground and it looked good with the coating left on the flats.

Richard is not 'cheap', he's inexpensive and there is a difference...he's a Class Act and a credit to his Trade.

Survival Knife?
When choosing you knife, find a reputable dealer with lar range of quality knives. Often the best shops stock custom knifemaker ranges.
do not limit your choice of knife to those described as 'Survival Knives'; there are many hunting knives eminently suited to survival use. Try also to be practical. There are many beautiful knives for sale, well made and by top-class manufactures; but they are not all practical for the specialized use you will be demanding.
You must always carry your knife with you; you never know when you'll need it. This means that your knife must be convenient size to be carried without becoming a drag, and must also be capable of carrying out all those basic camp chores such as opening tins, hammering tent pegs, cutting string and so on. And if you become stranded or have to go to ground it will have to do the job of a small axe as well, so it must be strong.
Generally speaking, a fixed blade is the better option as it is stronger and more rugged, but most professionals carry two knives: a large fixed blade and a small fixed knife blade.

however, mathematics is not an opinion....
Having the blade is where the major transformation will occur. You will have to alter the angle of the edge, to improve its cutting ability....especially with
Tops Products!
Thanks again richard j, thanks to all who participated and readers:)
