Most of you guys know Richard J as the maker always willing to help out with sharpening and knife making questions.
I have met the man and regularly visit his shop for sharpening and knife help.
He is the only guy I trust to put a hair spliting edge on my busse's and highend folders.
I have watched him do his work and he is pro, he really knows what he is doing behind a grinder and he has taught me alot.
Here are several knives he has sharpened for me so you can see his work.
One is a Kershaw outcast and the other is a Busse Ash-1 fatty.
The Kershaw out of the box is the biggest piece of super suck I have ever seen, with a edge so thick it bounces off wood and even Vassili can't chip it out.
Here it is, from a unsharp chunk of steel to a awesome satianized comp-edge cutter and camp knife.
Really can cut now.
Heres the Ash-1, the problem with it wasn't the geometry.
It was just a great sharpened prybar and not a great knife, now its a industructable knife that is a great cutter.
He can also sharpen high end steels like s90v(my edc steel) and s110v with ease, he even sharpens ceramic.
In addition he also makes great purpose built hunting knives that are well thought out and made, my sharpest knife is a custom hunter by Richard.
He is a great guy that you should hesitate sending a knife to or having a conversation with, he offers a great service for a very low price compared to the other guys.
Here is his website.
