I finished a Richard Raymond copy of one he posted the other day.

The last two photos are of the printout i worked from (with aspect notes) and Raymond's photo of his knife.

It would have helped if I had wiped my finger print off the blade....Duh!

Looking at the photos, I just realized that I should have carved the stag to match his stag, too. Oh well, at 0.300" the handle is small enough for most folks not to notice.

Tracy, I think that your beautiful rendition of Raymonds knife looks a wee bit undernourished! Treat it well, give it loving attention and maybe it will grow into a big blade in a few years!!! I can only imagine the amount of work that brought that miniature into being---wow!!

I made it between jobs during a slow afternoon at work today.
Forging ,grinding, and sanding the blade took about 1 hour.
Making the guard/bolster and butt cap took about 45 minutes. Slotting and filing a guard with a slot that is drilled with a #80 bit and sawn with a 3/0 blade IS fun.
Drilling, carving ,and flame coloring the handle took about 15 minutes.
Final assembly, soldering and finishing took another 30 minutes.

I have made several tiny holding devises to allow me to work on exceedingly small parts. I am nearly through with a much smaller version of this same knife that I started about 4PM.It is 0.450 long, with all the parts and assembly identical.

I would have etched the blade and hardware, but did not have my FC at work. I'll do that this weekend.
