Beautiful piece made by Rick Barrett who is known for amazing traditonal katanas and fantacy pieces. This knife is designated on his web site as Avatar and is made of high carbon 1075 steel that has been differnetial heat treated. The heat treating leaves a really hard cutting edge and a softer spine for durability. The blade is just amazing and you can clearly see the hamon "aka" temperline on both sides. The handles are made of African Blackwood and has torx head screws for ease of removing slabs for cleaning. Knife is 11 3/4 inches long and has a cutting edge of 6 inches. This is a truelly beautiful knife from a amazing swordsmith so these pieces do not come around often. I am asking 600.00 or best offer to be paid via paypal or money order.
