Rick Hinderer Knives Picture Thread

^^^ Cool pic! I like the dark green frag you have on there, it pairs really well with the bronze hardware.

My Gen4 3.5" Spanto arrived last spring with a black/blue scale, which I replaced with a lovely blue/black scale (it's the little things in life), and gradually gathered blue Ti hardware (minus clip) to go with it (there's also a smooth CF scale, but I find it a little too smooth, plus the screw heads stick out too far with it on). Then, this forum and its tempting pictures caused me to track down the green frag scale and bronze Ti hardware that it currently wears.

That's a great pic Carl!! And you have your spanto setup up nicely man!! Love the green frag scale with the bronze Ti hardware! Very good!

Ugh was in reference to image hosting not going smoothly as I attempt to stay true to my word about posting fresh photos.

I'm not teasing Charlie...not at all.

...but often I have to fight off PMs and e-mails when I post my favorite things.

Thought you guys might like to know that I post the pond fairly often as it's in my current avatar...

:)

"I need to know. I need to know. Tell me baby girl, cause I need to know!"

Every time I see you post brother, I hear this!

Hey Carl, that green frag looks awesome!!! What size washers are you using on your investigator pen??

Thanks Chaos!

For the o-rings, I bought several different sizes, figured out the exact right ones, and... don't seem to have written the results down anywhere. :o

I believe this is what I ended up with:

Ends (groove next to threads)007 O-Ring (5/32" inside diameter, 9/32" outside diameter, 1/16" Width)

Body grooves008 O-Ring (3/16" inside diameter, 5/16" outside diameter, 1/16" Width)

Got them from Amazon. The local Home Depot, confusingly, had o-rings numbered completely differently (e.g. "#36").

You can get them in different materials to get different colors (I used clear polyurethane o-rings on the ends of the flamed Ti Investigator, black ones on its body grooves, and black everywhere on the stainless steel Investigator). Also, if you search for "colored o rings" on Etsy, there are all sorts of interesting possibilities, but I'm not sure if they pay as close attention to sizing.

I wonder if RHK has ever posted the right sizes anywhere.

So, this was about nine hours ago…...

Haha. Busy weekend !!! I did make it to the po and what i got was the final piece of the puzzle. My quest for an example of each of the rare xm scales is complete. Well at least until I pick up another XM then have to find a micarta, or something else cool I don't even know about yet. :). Yesterday was crazy busy and today is going to be the same. Ill get some pics up Monday. Happy Mother's Day!

Busy here too. We had a homicide, so I couldn't make it to Jensen's to get the scale. Justin, he may not intentionally be trying to tease me, but it is!!!!! Either way keep the pics coming need2know. I enjoy them. Happy Mother's Day guys! Be safe out there...

Carl,
Lots of cool stuff going on here. The frag, the flamed ti pen and the robot on your Mac looking at your collection in awe! Thanks for sharing! You know the Carl memes may start appearing in here!!
