Rick Hinderer Knives Picture Thread

He'll no, too many snakes, especially the Black Mamba of which can exceed 8 ft in length and can travel over 10 mph. I would be the one in the Land Cruiser with lift kit to get as far off the ground as possible!

See that's the trick.... You're doing the hinderer pee pee dance cause of an incoming hinderer, the door knocks, you think it's Kevin with your package, and pow! It's damn 15 foot snake!! Good thing your adrenaline is up and you can make fast movements, low drag attire, Wife beater, possibly no pants, and of course the cap with propellor on it... You're out of there!!!

OK.....Justin.....THAT WAS FUNNY......!!!

The Black Mamba is fortunately not found in the Cape Town area. Its natural habitat is more towards the northern and eastern parts of South Africa. The snake common and dangerous in the Cape Town area is the Cape Cobra: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cape_cobra. From this article: The Cape cobra is regarded as one of the most dangerous species of cobra in all of Africa, by virtue of its potent venom and frequent occurrence around houses.

Nellem.....assuming I am bitten by either snake and I do not get immediate medical attention....I am assuming that I would be peacefully napping in a coffin later that day.
Soooooooo, do I really care WHICH one knocks on my door pretending to be Kevin with a package from RHK for me......?

Incredible Table Mountain pic, by the way!

The Cape Cobra is deadly but in most cases the victim will survive if treated within the first hour (depends on amount of venom involved). With the Black Mamba you may well be dead in the first hour already irrespective. How dangerous a snake is actually depends on more than just the venom involved. In South Africa the most dangerous snake is what we know as the Puff Adder (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bitis_arietans) because bite cases are most frequent and because the snake is very sluggish and will not move away when picking up vibrations (in footpaths, for example). It is also very aggressive when disturbed. Other snake species tend to move away from potential threats but not this specie. More people die from this snake's bites than any other in Africa.

The Puff Adder sounds exactly like my Ex.....

I think I'd want to be sitting beside Joe in that jacked up Land Cruiser.....I don't mind snakes so much....but none of them here can kill me.

Not sure if you guys saw it or not, but there was a African Gaboon Viper skin recently found in South Carolina!!! That's a NASTY snake!

Oh, and since this is a pic thread... :)

I'll gladly bring my package to Canada!

On a serious note, I'd bring along a fieldtac no doubt along with dueling 24's for Ms Mamba.

For a minute I thought you got a satin gen 2, but then I realized what it was. Nice previous score and stropping skills man!

Edit: Didn't realize I put "stripping" skills. Ha!

Sounds a bit like moi when I'm trying to nap...

I had to double check the title to assure this was still the picture thread.:p

So here's a quick photo representing a recent "event" that needed attendance. And says so much without the use of additional words...
