Rick Hinderer Knives Picture Thread

I know. And thanks for the heads up on the FXM previously. I just couldn't afford it back then or I would have jumped on it. I'll eventually get what I want though.

They are all beautiful grinds to own, as an allround EDC the spanto would probably be the most versatile grind.

I'd have to agree with this. As much as I'd love to get a few of the custom grinds, they'd never kick my spantos out of my pocket. I have an 24 and a 18 3.5". The exception is the 3". That's a smaaler, lighter knife that I prefer in the slicer grind.

All these knives are too shiny... Mine gets a bit abused...

Sorry for crappy quality.

It took you two years to make your first post but......what a fantastic first post.

Great seeing a heavily used XM, you used it soo hard the pivot flipped over and a screw shot out!

hrm, wonder why my post count is 1... I posted awhile back a year or so ago then I kinda got out of knives so I could save some money I quit visiting the forums. In that time that knife has pried open a door to a building that got hit by a mortar so we could put out the fire (that was it's shining moment), stripped wire, cut millions of boxes, straps, pallet wrap, been hammered through 2x4's, cut open countless MRE's and cut me once. The orange handle isn't nearly as bright as it once was due to the fact it needs a good cleaning... but meh, I cleaned it meticulously when I first got it... now I just put some 10W-40 in the pivot every so often... people may frown on that but it works :)

oh, and the screw, no clue how that fell out or when but it doesn't effect anything, I might email Hinderer one day about getting a replacement when I get back to the states.

If you PM me your mailing address I'll send you a couple of clip/tab screws, not new but in better condition than yours!!!

That is the most wabi'ed XM I've seen, great story to go with it.

Don't be a stranger, I'll look forward to seeing more photos of that XM in action.

Cheers,

Jay.

fdrotary- your xm looks like it has 2 liners, one for the lock side and the other.

Can anyone chime in if this was something on older generations? I'm gonna have to agree with jay, you put that thing through the ringer so much it got all topsy turvy and the pivot followed suit :p Would be great to see more pics of your xm out and about wherever you're serving

Use what is available...

I think Jay was referring to the pivot screw (which is reversed but doesn't really matter), not the filler tab screw.

Illusion, it only has one liner on the G10 side. None of the various generations had two liners nor does this one.

Mother Nature took a stab at taking her away from me, but I plucked 'er from the water's grasp before an even larger pier-covering splasher followed this one...
