Rick Hinderer Knives Picture Thread

Thanks guys.

I think we all know I cheerlead for pics in this thread.

So, when I went rogue and posted scenic photos with no knives, I had to make it right.

The world is a beautiful place. Every once in awhile I drop the day to day BS, and take a minute to enjoy it. Highly reccomend it.

I really enjoy brief glances into clear skies at night, but my cameras can never get photos of what my eyes can see.

Thanks, N2K. That lill black slicer goes real well with the other black objects. I just wish I had the ability to take some of the quality photo's that some take on BF.

@MOD-Z..."a couple"?? :D

Like the variety. The custom grinds are sweet. You went a little more bling that I do, but still nice stuff.

You need to source a screw for that Gen 3 3.5.

Nice line up of Hinderer goodness, I have dreams that look like this!

Do you do the anodising yourself?

Jay.

It looks like the Hinderer desk at a knife show!
I do most of the anodizing myself. The Standoffs I had to buy because the factory Standoffs are steel. I got lucky that some LBS are titanium so I can anodize them, the rest are made of steel.
I wanted to anodize some frames but I'm not sure if it will void the warranty.
I need to email Rob to find out.

Warranty

As long as Rick is breathing we will warranty at no cost to you, any material defects or workmanship that have a direct effect on the usefulness of the tool, or it’s intended purpose. Normal wear and tear issues like stripped screws, worn and scratched finishes, bent clips, blade wear, etc will fall under refurbishing, and there are fees associated. We also will not do warranty work on “pimped” or altered knives. Repairs to or work performed on your knife by any source other than us, voids the warranty. Our warranty does not cover damage caused by abuse, misuse, loss, improper handling, alterations, accident, neglect, dis-assembly, or improper sharpening. So if you have drilled any holes, interchanged parts between knives, installed parts that did not come from our shop including scales, screws, washers, etc, altered the knife with a file, sandpaper, dremel tool, or had the blade reground then your warranty is void. We also do not cover lost parts like, screws, clips, Lock Bar Stabilizers, etc. If we determine that there is a defect in the materials or workmanship, we will repair, or replace the product at our discretion.

If we determine that it is something other than a defect in workmanship or materials, we will inform you if the product can be repaired and your cost. If we cannot repair the knife, we will return it to you recommending that it should no longer be used. If your knife has been abused or has seen hard use for a long period of time, it is possible that the useful life of the product has been exceeded.

“Pimped Knives”

We are going to continue to stress that we will not work on pimped knives or altered knives, period. This includes refurb or warranty work. If your knife is left in stock condition, we will have your back, if you chose to modify it in anyway, please remember you are doing it at your own risk.

Based on the last statement, it has always been my understanding that anodizing any of the parts or brushing/polishing/refinishing hardware by anyone other than Hinderer Knives are all forms of "pimping" but clearly Rick or Rob can state officially whether the warranty is still in place or not.

Recently started as volunteer EMS and was able to get a pic of the XM en route to an accident. Hopefully I will be able to get some more "on duty" shots in the future.

Thanks for the info. Most or the brushing & polishing is on replaceable parts like the screws, Standoffs. You could easily take screws from another XM or you can even order extra sets from Hinderer. I doubt Rick will Rick will refuse to service an XM just because you polished the scale screws & pocket clip screws.
The only frames I would ever anodize or scotch Brite are the one that have been put thru its paces & I know it won't need warranty services in the future.
