Rick Hinderer XM-24 = Awesome

Sebbie on steroids is a good description.
Doug

When you hold them side by side, you can see how true that really is!:D

New information.....expect prices on these puppies to rise quite steadily...it will be a short while before there are more on the market...10 have been made, 4 sold to diehard Hinderer collectors, that leaves 6 up for grabs.

Julie from AZCK sold hers to another dealer....so you can see how scarce they really are...for me to get picked and have an option to choose this knife(was third in Saturday's auction, I believe) was a no-brainer.

Thanks again, Rick, and Win for being my human good luck charm~

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

STeven, that was the most fun at a drawing, except when I win.;) I did hear that these are rare and that the next ones will have G10. I've seen where Rick stated that these are prototypes and the only all Ti ones to be made.

Good scores!

I am happy to tell that I got one of the XM 24. Is the length of the blade 4 or 4 1/2, I have seen both? Here are some more facts if you do not have it yet:

· Rick made 10 Protos
· None numbered
· Only XM-24s that will be made with All Titanium Handles and engraved Fireman’s Cross
· All identical but only one marked Prototype
· Rick Hinderer and his 3 “assistants” each kept 1 of the 10.
· The 6 others were sold last weekend at Plaza.
· Rick and his wife Lori’s favorite TV Show is “24”…that is how he named the knife.

SWE, thanks for posting that info. Mine is 4 1/2", I think STeven's is to. With only 6 in circulation they are exceptionally rare.

Cool story about how it was named.

I have got my XM 24 now and have to say that it is an impressive folder! There are maybe stronger folders out there but I have never found one. Fit and finish on my ex is perfect. I have never had a Hinderer without dead centered blade and this one is no exception. And I like D2 blade on a user. The size of the blade (4 inches) is in my opinion the maximum length for a folder. More blade makes the knife harder to handle and you can still not use it for chopping like a fixed blade.

Thanks Rick!

I was Lucky enough to Score One Myself. :) This is One Awesome Knife , That will sure Be a Huge Seller Once it goes into Production. Congrats to all of You Guys Who now Own this Special Limited Hinderer XM-24:)

do we know the specs of the production version yet? Will it have the option of a flipper? Will it be s30v or D2...?

I've owned a few Hinderer folders (mainly XM-18 flippers), but I have to say, Rick has the best lockup on a frame lock that I've used....

I love his folders b/c they are so basic that they are elaborate..... They really do function as good as they look....

I am 9 months behind on these things!!!

I just got my first XM-18 and THEN find out about the XM-24!!!

All Ti handles look GREAT!!!!

..........................................anyone know where one can find one of these?

COOL. Looks like an awesome knife and based on where the opinions came from, it is obviously tough and made to handle any task.

Hope to handle one some time.

Peter

I JUST noticed how long ago this was posted. Tacticals aren't my primary interest....obviously!
