Riddle me this corporate cubicle gents.

You might also want to try the Blackhawk TNT pants. I don't have those specific pants yet but their tactical pants work well.

I haven't laughed this hard since I started browsing these forums...what kind of dorks wear this junk?

Do yourself a favor so as NOT to look like an off duty cop or a yuppie ninja (tactical khakis, get over it..)

Go to old Navy have about 60 bucks in hand, find something comfortable, their khaki pants are awesomely comfortable, same with a shirts, stick with things that flatter your colors, ie if you have green eyes, go with a hunter green shirt to go with the Khaks, then a thick brown leather belt that matches your shoes.

For a pack, look to something like this: http://www.rei.com/product/764336 its 99 bucks, its REI, so they will replace it forever, just like the more expensive co. without the hype or the anti poon effect of the Saddleback leather...trust me more women will ask you if you robbed a bank in 1880 than compliment you on your man purse.

or listen to most of this junk and look like a cross between James Bond, McLovin' and the local FBI agent. What ever you do though, get yourself non slip shoes, because zombies don't care about fashion.

best laugh of the night....

LOL... I have to admit though man I like the saddleback "briefcase" (notice I said briefcase) in carbon... If it holds up like my wallet I'm pretty sure I could be buried with the zombies and bank robbers in it. My wife might like the poon repellent factor of it now that you mention it haha.

Wait, so it's not good to aspire to be Gecko45? The internets lied to me, I'm so confused! :p

well first go to JC Penny and go to the mens department and start trying on pants you like. When you find some at a decent price that look good buy those. Than go to a office depot kind of place and look for a bag to carry a computer in. When you find one you like at a decent price buy it.

BINGO! Go conventional and conservative- you'll save a ton of money, be more comfortable and fit in better. That stuff lasts, too.

In today's environment I would not want to be the guy that makes people uncomfortable or doesn't fit in- guarantees you'll be the first to go. Also, if you make the boss feel comfortable about putting you in front of customers (you want him to feel like you'll make him and/or the company look good) it really increases your opportunities and chances of a raise/promotion.

As a fairly independent (by the sound of things) tech guy, you are selling a product (your services and presence). Make it the best product you can (as dictated by the market) and you will do much better in the long run.

Wear and carry what you want on your own time, but I can tell you from hard experience that appearance pays off- whether positively or negatively is up to you- I've been on both sides of this. Remember your appearance is all that most people will have to judge you by. Try to err on the side of being just slightly overdressed- next time they need a supervisor, who do you think will get picked?

Dockers and a polo shirt are my buisness casual. Pockets enough for a cell phone, knife, pen, wallet and bandana. If you carry a lot more than than, some new, pressed cargo pants might work.

For laptop toting, I like one of the bags from Duluth Pack. They make some nice, retro looking daypacks, briefcases and messanger bags that would work for carrying a laptop.

Hey I think a bag is a bag. Obviously no digi-cam, but everything else would be ok. Just cause you work for the man doesn't mean you can't have a personality. Unless your into Hello Kitty or something.

And, if ya gots the scratch, a Saddleback Leather pouch will let them know you got everything covered.

I agree on the bag not being a big thing in the cube farm.

I find that Dickies pants are not expensive, hold up well, and look just like slacks. Spend more if you wish, but just covering the basics works for me.

If you want to spend some big moneys on pants, Blackhawk has their "Tactical Non-Tactical" pants which look like a normal pair of dress pants but have additional pockets.
