Yeah, the knives are cheesy and the mug is obviously a goof, but their bags are first rate.

no the mug is legit, its a tad tongue-in-cheek read the description about hitting an attacker over the head, its just ridiculous: tactical goggles ROFL

oh thansk for reminding me! Yeah they are way over priced, especially for products made in China..... I dont buy from them for those reasons, i go for american as much as possible

Blackhawk has some things that I personally don't like, but they're a good company with quality products. Most reviews of MOD knives have been positive on these forums other than the mall ninja looks that turn some people off (like myself). I do own a Night Ops Gladius flashlight:

This light has gotten nothing but positive reviews on candle power forums by the light freaks over there.

Tactical goggles are not stupid. I have a 150$ pair. Why? Because i do milsim skirmishes with highly upgraded airsoft rifles. These things shoot 6mm plasitc rounds 400-450 fps at a rate of over 20 rounds per second. Would you want to wear crappy safety glasses doing that? My gun will easilly crack a pair of standard safety glasses and i wouldnt dare skirmish with anything less than full seal around my eyes....

Not everyone who buys these is a mall ninja.

What is so wierd about goggles? Soldiers wear goggles.

the over use of tactical
goggles are goggles - if you wanna call a pair of goggle tactical then its has to be night vision or infrared or both
go look at their products and count how many of them have the word tactical in the name
thats what made the mug so funny, it was a "tactical" coffee mug

I will remember to bring my ski goggles next time I am going swimming. . . after all, "goggles are goggles" :D Goggles are specialized eyewear, and they are not all created equal.

Night vision goggles already have a name. . . "Night vision goggles"

What would you suggest they call them if you don't like the term "tactical"?

agreed, the word tactical is generally overused.

however blackhawk was one of the first companies to offer a full line of gear for soldiers and cops, and to have that gear also available to the public.

i think they can call whatever they want tactical. even a mug.

I like the term tactical it has a meaning until its over used and is a marketing tool on a product with no tactical application. Goggles are just that goggles they arent tactical unless they allow you to see in the dark or see heat obvious you guys were to thick aside from Morim* to undstand what i meant about the tactical part: looks like i will have to get you the definition so you can, hopefully, understand the point i was making

characterized by skillful tactics or adroit maneuvering or procedure: tactical movements.

Please explain how they are the same as any other goggle. I think you are lacking knowledge about goggles.

Every type of goggle is not the same. They are designed for specialized activities. Soldiers wear goggles, and those goggles are designed to be worn in combat. Maybe they could be called "Safety goggles", "Don't Get sand in your eye thingies", or "Operator Eye Protectors" but that doesn't sound as cool, and the only people wearing them are Military and Swat types. . . so tactical works just fine.

They would make lousy ski goggles and even worse swim goggles, so your statement that goggles are all the same is totally false.

Sure, tactical is an overused buzzword, just like "extreme" was in the 90's. But in this instance, the goggles are tactical goggles- Because they are specifically designed for use by "Military types". Maybe you can come up with a better buzzword that means the same thing, and become a marketing hero to all.

Strategic.

somehow i don't visualise BHI getting into the business of making nukes ;)

if you ask me, the coffee mug probably was meant to be a joke
but the mark v is just silly :D
there're some good things and some bad things that BHI makes
more good than bad, and the things they have that're good, are really good
ymmv, of course

goggles are goggles....not exacly. If you catch shrapnel to the face, do you want to be wearing a pair of glass diving goggles or 3mm ballistic polycarbonate tactical goggles?
