I've been thinking about making/buying a sling for my M6 Scout .22/410 survival rifle where the sling itself is part of the survival gear. I was thinking of one that held gear by means of a pouch (internal/external) and ammo loops. I don't just want to add a bulky pouch to a factory sling. Anyone have any ideas?? Gear to be carried would include a few .22 and 410 shells, firesteel, bird/trout knife, button compass, fishing kit,:jerkit::jerkit: etc.

I once saw one that had a small pouch epoxied to the butt stock and it had a Velcro closing top. It held several hundred rounds of .22. As for a sling make one out of para cord in a flat cobra braid.

I think the most useful would just be a bunch of spare paracord used to make the sling. There are a ton of ways to tie it to incorporate a lot of cordage. I think that would be much easier than having a bunch of other crap hanging off the rifle.

I made one for a 22 that had over 100 ft involved. Worked very well as a sling as well.

If you make a sling from cordage you can weave in a small molle pouch. I made one for my 10/22, and it has held up great. Looks good too, I have had several people ask about it. I just dont have the time to make any more for them right now, as it takes forever.

I always wanted an m6 I wish they still mad them..

Riley- see my PM;)

Honestly, I see as rifle sling as a carry strap and shooting aid- not really anything more. I put an Chinese AK sling on my Matched because the leather tabs fit the small swivels , a USGI OD sling on the AR, and other leather and web slings on other rifles. You could take a LC-2 ALICE clip attachment Compass/ First Aid pouch and run that onto the sling I guess. It should be big enough to hold an altoids tin sized kit.
