Nice and pointy.
Finest example of a Primos as I've had the pleasure of viewing.
The framed handle and top grind, along with the Damascus and choice handle,do it for me.
Coops image!? Well.You know.
Pete,
Thanks for posting the new photo. I'm so glad that you like it. It will soon bee 14 years since I sold my first knife. I was never satisfied, and this one is no exception. I always thought that there was something that I could have done better. But this one was close to pleasing me. It is one of my favorites.
I spent a huge amount of time drawing and redrawing every piece of it, then trying to make what I'd drawn. I believe that this one was my first frame handles. It was Steve Dunn who first taught me how to do frame handles when I spent a week working with him in his shop in Smith's Grove, Kentucky. I believe that was in April of 1998, and it was a few years after that I felt confident enough to even try it.
I made the Damascus in Jerry Fisk's shop back when he lived in Lockesburg. I remember it well. Jerry had just purchased his high dollar air hammer and he wouldn't let anyone near it. I think I was one of maybe three people in the world he would allow to use the thing back then.
The day I was making the billet that this knife was made from, Jerry was back up at his house playing on his computer. I remember thinking that either he had a great deal of confidence in me, or he just couldn't stand to watch. All went well and the rest is history.
