This used to be a CS Riflemans hawk. I never liked it because of it´s weight so this is what´s left after my angle grinder. Maybe it´s easier to just buy the Frontier Hawk instead.

Does anybody have a tip of what to do next? How do I easily remove the black paint?

Kleen-Strip from Home Depot will clean it right off, including the Taiwan markings which thankfully appear to be only etched in the paint. To force a patina I wrapped it in a couple of paper towels, put it in a large zip lock and soaked it in vinegar for a few hours. Do all your grinding and finishing work before you patina though.

Oops. Saw you were in Sweden, so no Home Depot's. Any good paint stripper should work.

I'll post a pic of my Norse when I get a chance to take some.

Check out the sticky Mod'ing The CS Trail Hawk for all the variations people here have used.

Nice job of getting rid of the poll on the rifleman, I hate those hawks as they come, I bet it feels much better without the hammer head. The new frontier is very nice to throw and takes a hell of an edge, also come with long hafts.
I have noticed that the new spike and the new frontier have Taiwan faintly stamped into the steel right under the mark on the paint ;-((.

Regards
