Right! Desert Island Folder - Choose Your Blade!

........I had abandoned my one true companion. Back home we did everything together and achieved so much. It was only now that I realised she had everything and I had forsaken her. Oh Vicky! I've been such a damned fool!.....WHAT HAVE I DONE!!!

Not to worry. We have a remedy! The Pioneer I left home in the first place will take good care of her, like Ivor the engine driver. You are forgiven.:D

One of my existing knives only?
Well then without a doubt it would have to be my
Leatherman Wave. :) ;)

I've just spent my first night on the island, and I will just say I'm sure those guys could have landed that thing on the shore rather than dumping me out into the sea like that, and why all the laughter. Anyway I'm here now and have with me my desert island blade of choice: The EKA/Normark Big Swede.

Great stuff Blake, I can the Robinson Cruscoe theme music playing in the background (not sure if you'll be old enough to remember it)! :D

By the way, guys, if you haven't read about it at all, search around the web for info on Amelia Earhart's crash. One of the items found on the uninhabited island of Nikumaroro -- a tiny desert island between Australia and Hawaii where researchers believe she perished -- was this bone-handled, two-blade jack (right image is just for reference):

Researchers believe it was smashed apart, perhaps to craft a spear from the main blade.

Fascinating Mark

If by that you mean the old black and white version they showed as a t.v. series in the 70's then yes I am Jack. It was dubbed if I remember rightly but really good just the same.

This is probably anathema here; might even get me a slap on the wrist. But of the folding knives I own today, I'd have to go with my Doug Ritter Mini-Griptilian in M390. Or, as Ballenxj said above, my old Leatherman.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess my ideal blade to take to the isle would be my Cold Steel Bushman fixed blade, or "GI Tanto". my Cold Steel Kudu or Eland might be a better choice than the sunfish, I chose earlier, to go with the Buck 110.
Regardless, no battoning would be done.

That's less than 25 years ago; practically yesterday! :D:D

Uh OH. Reading the original post;
You're about to be dropped on a desert island. You have the choice of one folding knife from your own current collection to take with you. Which one's it gonna be? You will have nothing else with you so it's gonna have to do everything; Help you to build your shelter, kill and prepare your food, help prepare your fire, provide personal protection against cannibals, and cut your toe-nails. choose carefully now!

Please provide photos.
I'm afraid in that case this whole thread may be in the wrong forum then?
