Right vs. left handed CQC-7's

Well, just took my "7" apart so that I could sand the scales down a bit. I just don't need that much grip, or my jeans being torn up! Unscrewed the knife and removed the scales. Listening to others on the subject, got some 220 and 600 grit wet/dry emory cloth and filled the sink with water. I proceeded to carefully wet sand both scales (don't want any G10 material getting airborne as other suggested), and they turned out fine. Took my needle oiler and added a touch of oil to the pivots, and screwed it back together. Love the scales now, and opening it is smoothing out nicely.

That thing looks pretty sweet. I'm a lefty, and was considering a lefty Commander, but you've got me thinking in a different direction!

More pictures please. BTW a I read some where why Emerson's are or have the rough finish on their G-10. So the user has less chance of handle slippage in any situation, or weather condition.

Also the more you use you Emerson without and sanding of the handle it will smoother out a but from in and out of pockets repeatedly.

Ask and you shall receive - pics below of the sanded scales. I understand that use will smooth out the G10, but I am impatient. Also, I understand that the rough G10 has a purpose, but as I fly a desk for a living and therefore have soft hands, and don't expect to need the knife with water, blood, oil, etc. on my hands, I decided to smooth things out a bit. Very happy with my choice...YMMV

Well you did a nice job, thanks for posting your finished. Flying a desk is nothing to be ashamed of, or emptying the trash, everyone's job is important in keep the system working. Ask most people you view as important, who is the most important on a football team.

Some would say quarterback, I say the team, as wining game is a team effort.
