RIP Boudreaux

I'm so sorry for your lost Andy.

It was a bit unreal to read about it. I have a very ill pet friend myself at the moment and it doesn't look good to be honest. He'll be going through one more procedure tomorrow but if that doesn't help him we've tried everything we possible can. I just hope I won't have to make the same hard dissension you just went through in the next couple of days & try to focus on all the good times we shared together.

All the best.

Sorry for the loss Andy. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Not a day goes by that my wife and I do not think about, and talk about, Lucy. The road ahead is a hard one for your family, but try as best as you can to celebrate all that he was to you.

My deepest condolences Andy.

I had a beautiful brown Doberman called Gracie. I had to euthanize her and it was the hardest thing I have ever had to do. I held her to the end. It still hurts to think about.

I know your pain and you have my sympathy.

3 years ago, when my home was burglarized and the cops said "You live in Oakland, why do you NOT own a dog?" I was't enthusiastic, but my wife pushed me to go look at pound dogs. None of them "fit". We finally drove 3 hours to Nevada City to look at a 1 1/2 year old mixed German Shepard/Grayhound. We brought him home and I was pretty certain we'd made a mistake. Completely untrained and 75 lbs. of lean muscle, he was a helicopter crash on a leash.

Fast forward to today, and I can't imagine life without him. I never understood how people got so attached to their dogs. Maybe it's something about the unconditional devotion they offer.

One of the downsides of owning a dog is that, under normal circumstances, we will outlive our dog. It's a package deal, and maybe knowing they won't be around forever makes our time with them more special.

I dread the day I'll be in your shoes, and I can only imagine your loss. Condolences.

This was my wife's first dog from puppy to shot. They were cat people. She said yesterday that this is way worse.

Dang Andy .. very sorry to hear this.

Boudreaux was the very first member of the Fiddleback crew I ever met and I fondly remember that first impression, 'this is one cool-ass dog.'

I'll second this, that Boudreaux was one cool ass dog! We're gonna miss you around here buddy. Hope you're already chasing squirrels on the other side..

I am sorry to hear about your loss Andy. Animals are such a huge part of a family. My condolences my friend.

Sorry about your loss Andy, just from looking at the photo that Bud posted, I can see what a sweet dog Boudreaux must've been. I've never even met him but I miss him. Hope yall' hang in there!

Sorry to you and your family for your loss. I am sure you have many wonderful memories to remember him by.

I'm sorry for your loss Andy. I haven't had a dog since I parted with my best friend of my teenage years back in '83 when I left for basic training. He was a black Lab that I had for 8 years. No animal since has seemed right to replace him, and I prefer to just not even try.

I am sorry for your loss Andy. It is coming up on a year that we had to put down a pup that was a very big part of our family. It is very hard. Take care.
Nathan

Been there myself. Really sorry for the big hole in your life - hope you can fill it up at least part of the way.

We had to put our first beloved friend down recently. He woke up every morning with me and went for a run, one moring he just was not himself. I knew the way he looked at me that morning when I loaded him in the truck that he wouldn't be coming back, such a loyal hardworking friend. The vet said his liver was riddled with tumors, with Golden retrievers this happens more often then not. I always told myself I would never put an animal down, but then I realized what honor is there in making him suffer for my lack of grief. We wanted to honor him in the way he was loyal to us.

Under much speculation we took the advice of our vet and friend and quickly adopted another dog to help our oldest dog find a companion. It is so amazing to watch this new little guy just fall in love with our 15 year old field spaniel . Our oldest dog acts 10 years younger. Through all of this I realized I will never replace Chip, but we can find that happiness again:)
Blessing and prayers for you and your family
Rob

Sorry to hear this. I know the heartache of losing a dog. They become such a part of the family its like one of your children or a brother/sister. I lost my boston Terrier almost 5 years ago and I still get choked up when I think about him. My thoughts are with you and your family. I hope your hearts are able to heal with the aid of memories of Boudreaux.

Very sorry to hear this. Dogs are always family to me, I`ve lost some good ones over the years, my little Molly only a few months ago.

Geez Andy, that's just awful! Sorry for your loss. Condolences to you and your family.

Andy, sorry for your lose.

This story always gets me at first each time I see a version of it pop up on FB or somewhere else on the internet, but then it makes me feel better. Hopefully, if you haven't seen it before, it will do the same for you.
