RIP Michael Crichton

I can't say I enjoyed everything Crichton wrote, but there were some good ones in there. My wife and I both read Andromedra Strain long before they made the film; damn scary.
Evidently a bit of an odd duck; he did an article for Rolling Stone some years ago expressing his belief in a number of paranormal phenomena. Maybe he was on meds...

I loved his autobiography Travels. Great read with a hugely diverse spectrum of tone and subject matter- including paranormality.

He was also a huge skeptic of anthropogenic global warming, for what it's worth.

He wrote very good books. You know, you don't see many 6'9", surgeon/Authors.

RIP, you will be missed terribly
word on the street was he was working on JP4. I wonder if he finished it?

A very good author with some real gems. Got a little wierd and lost the plot with his right-wing rants in "State of Fear".
Guess he couldn't live a day under the Obama regime.

he will be missed. i loved every book of his i read.

few authors present such technical and scientific detail, yet in a manner a layman, much like myself, can understand and enjoy.

He was always fun to read. Totally suckered me with one of my favorite stories -- I didn't realize till after he met the vikings that Eaters of the Dead was the Beowulf legend come to life. I was enjoying the very different story up to that point on its own merits. :)

I didn't even follow his books until I saw Andromeda Strain. After that, I bought all of them I could find.

RIP Dr Crichton. I've read most of his work and have enjoyed them. Eaters of the Dead might be my favorite.

He was one of my favorite authors. Loved his JP books and eaters of the dead. Leaving so much behind, he'll be remembered forever.
