RIP Michael Crichton

I didn't realize till after he met the vikings that Eaters of the Dead was the Beowulf legend come to life. I was enjoying the very different story up to that point on its own merits. :)

I didn't even follow his books until I saw Andromeda Strain. After that, I bought all of them I could find.

I derive great pleasure from reading but SELDOM do I read novels, but there was just something with this one back in '97 that made me actually buy it. I wasn't mistaken, "Eaters" turned out to be one of the best books I've ever read.

Stories then to movies with a good story arc mixed with plausible science. He will indeed be missed.

One of the few authors of whom I've read every book. That's saying a lot. Eaters was one of my favorites, JP were cool, Timeline was one of the only ones my wife and I both read. Next was quite an interesting one, with lots of neat ideas, and implications. Prey was just freaky... Andromeda Strain is a timeless idea that has been copied by many folks.

Let's not forget his inolvement with the TV series, ER.

RIP my friend.

I, too, enjoyed everything he wrote.

I admire his intellectual curiosity and tenacity. He refused to simply leave everything to 'the experts.' Would that more of us had that attitude ...

I miss him. :(

I liked his fiction but Travels is one of the most interesting books I've ever read, I am constantly recommending it.
