She was a one-of-a-kind lady; quirky with a lot of personality and an infectious sense of humor. She would sometimes weed the garden at 11pm, illuminating the yard with halogen work lights.
My wife, 3 kids and I, have been living with her for the past year (which of course didn't seem so great then... but obviously I now feel very grateful for the time we had together).
She really touched a lot of people over the years - after overcoming some personal problems 5 years ago, she did a lot of work with support groups (as a mentor) and charities (volunteering at a homeless/drug-addiction shelter).
It was unbelievable how many people came to the viewing last night.
She was an amazing grandmother to my 3 kids, and to my sister's 2.
Check out the links; her story is worth reading.
thanks
