Strange questions for all of you. What are the brands of jeans you have had that actually held up to having things clipped to the pockets? And what knives have you had that just tore pockets to shreds?

Never had a pair of Riggs (I'll have to try them out) I usually wear Carhartt jeans and the hold up well.

This is about four months of use (I probably wear them 1-2 a week)

Cant say ive had any issues with any pairs of jeans. If they are thin enough the clip just slides over the material. If really thick they just take a beating. With that said I prefer affliction and rock revival jeans. Both brands make edgy looking products that are extremely well stitched and durable. They are probably the only two brands of jeans Ive had that dont compromise quality for style.

I wear Carhartt jeans the majority if the time.

But the one knife I have that has come close to shredding my jeans is my Strider SnG DGG.

The Gunner Grips mixed with the really tight pocket clip are a recipe for destroying pockets lol.

Luckily with use the clip has loosened up a little and not caused any real damage to my jeans.

I wear mostly Levi's 505's. I've never had a pair tear out due to knives, even Cold Steel. Heck, I even have five pairs of Member's Mark (Sam"S Club) jeans for work that have held up very well. And I remove clips and bend them to make them as tight as possible as soon as I get one, except Cold Steel which are very tight.

Work wear. Carharts, dickies, etc. I don't expect high priced high fashion jeans to hold up to normal living, not sure why people would think a knife would't wear right through.

never had pockets wear more than just a tiny bit from pocket knives. and I literally alternate between about two pairs of jeans 90% of the time.

granted I usually only carry iwb now, not in the pocket.

I wear Levis.

it probably helps that my main carry knife has ti scale on the clip side. and most that I alternate have smoother frn. the one knife that had rougher g10 is the tenacious and it hasn't worn through anything either.

My Levi's all are starting to rip on the top of the pocket, but it's really only cosmetic. I have a variety of knives with a variety of handle materials so I can't offer much as to why this has happened.

I normally just get whatever is on sale, totally forgot about the quality over quantity principal... this is what normally happens with not even 2 months of wear rotating between 3-4 pairs of jeans. I carry either a para 2, 0560, or mini grip.

I've lost a couple pairs to just the stitching coming loose and the pocket being unusable, I'm not the best at sowing but sometimes I can't save them haha.

Sandpaper like traction on some G10 handled knives has ruined a few pairs. Also a culprit are the overly tight pocket clips that most manufacturers use. I have a few that had pocket clips so tight, they couldn't even fit over the jean pocket seam. Add the sandpaper like traction, and your pocket is ripped to shreds...

I did have a knife like that at one point, I think it was the waved endura? The wave didn't help either. The ones I have as of now aren't that bad, and I don't carry the mini grip all that often.
