I recently got a Mini and have made it my EDC.
How many of you are using yours?
How many of you put them away?
I could not resist using such a good steel!
This is one sweet knife.
So lets hear it, user or queen?

I have 2 RSK Mini-grips, and they are both users! (one S30V & the othe M2)

Regular sized Ritter (S30V), one of my No.1 users.

Griptilian isn't a showcase knife, it's a workhorse ;)

Which ones? M2 or S30V?

If M2, there is a probabilty that a mint example will increase in value with time. I'm sure a few were aquired with that in mind.

But that said, once used, go for the gusto. I'm using my Mini M2 for office carry as that is why I bought it. It should prove to be excellent in that enviroment, not to mention should I need it for harder light duty tasks.

orthongonal1,
What I origially meant to say was the Ritter Grip or the Mini Grip in M2 steel.
Mine is a user and I sure am glad I get to be the usee. I wouldn't beable to resist using a blade of this quality. It is definitely a pleasure to own and use.
How many superb tools will lay idle?

Mine is sitting Idle for now, I have my S30V Rittergrip and D2 grip in my EDC rotation right now. I most likely end up using it anyway just because I like to carry something different everyday.

Which of the two steels do you prefer ? I am looking to get one and would appreciate some input. Thanks.

User for sure. It doesn't strike me as a safe queen. It's made to be used.

I've carried and used much more expensive knives. Even though that's just me, I really can't see how anyone would consider those 2 models to be Safe Queens.

The mini-Ritter in M2 just begs to be used on a EDC basis. It is the perfect size and the steel is superb! I think I like it better than my large Ritter in S30V.

I mini grip in 154CM, it gets used more than any other knife I own. The main reason for that is the axis lock; locks up like a fixed blade.

I do have a matched number set of M2 Grips set aside now, but my new EDC is an M2 mini grip. These are user knives. If my edc goes missing I will start using one of the others, they are worth more to me as users than safe queens. Steven

User.

If you're looking for an investment, buy gold, stock, or bonds. If you're looking for shelf queens, buy three. One user, one backup, and one just to look at.

When I bought my RSKs, I was paying for function rather than beautiful craftsmanship. You bet I use them. An expensive handcrafted knife might appreciate in value sitting in a safe. An expensive functional knife might (and probably will) just be a waste of money sitting in a safe.

I personally don't think many knives will actually go up in value. Some of the beat known high end makers maybe (Randal, Fisk, ect) but almost all production knives and most hand made knives will at best hold thier value. I buy mine to use or to enjoy looking at, but don't expect to make money off of the them. My heirs can figure out what to do with them and my guns when I am dead. Steven

User. The knives are good users, and not very good collectors items. They would waste space in a safe.
