Ritter RSK Mk1 or Spyderco Para-Military?

+1 for the Para. Just ordered the D2 version on clearance. It was too good a deal to pass up.

Nothing against the Ritter. I actually carry a BM Griptilian at work, and abuse the heck out of it with no worries. But there is something about the Para that appeals to me. The G10 handle and the overall craftsmanship are superb, and the blade geometry is phenomenal. I own the S30V model, and it cuts like nobodies business.

I see this argument as similar to Coke vs. Pepsi. Some prefer Coke, others prefer Pepsi. Neither one is wrong.

My D2 Para has served me faithfully since day 1 and it has never failed me once so far and continues to be a great EDC knife, the Griptillians are nice knives but I have never owned one but the Para for me atleast is a better knife, again for me.

Both are great. But If you need it to chop .. and need a larger blade.. Then the full size ritter grip is the way to go..
Otherwise the para is my favorite..
Both are great.. but way to different to compare..

When put into this type of situation.....always.....go with the Paramilitary.

It's just such a freakin' amazing knife. Probably one of the strongest locks on the planet, the best G10 in the world, and a sweet blade. Also you don't have to deal with the plastic clacky sound of the Griptilian....(yeah I know it's still strong....blah blah).

Is D2 stronger than S30V? I'm not too concerned about which one would dull faster, but I don't want to be chipping up the blade while doing something like cutting carpet scraps or pruning some small branches.

Para, even though it isn't my favorite Spyderco.

Millie or Lil'Temp would be preferable:D

Why chop with a small folding knife? Also, if you want something larger why not get a Military? Its bigger than the Grip.

I got the D2 Para. $99.00 and free shipping from Spyderco was just too good a deal to pass up.

I might try to switch out the handles to black if the green is as weird as it looks in pictures, but maybe I'll like it.

Also, I though I saw a picture or video of a pocket clip that was converted to tip up, and folded over to ride lower in the pocket. Where can I get that done?

All things considered, like proper heat treatment, D2 seems to be stronger than S30V. I've got a few S30V blades from Benchmade and from now on would go with D2 over S30V.
