Ritter RSK Mk3 Fixed Blade!!!

I'm NOT saying it's a copy, but to me it doesn't seem especially different then the Spyderco Temperance. It has a .25 inch shorter blade and .5mm thinner blade and they weight essentially the same. $165 vs $75.

nucks,
The first 100 with s/n's will msrp at $175, the next productions run will be listed at $165.

Ciao

It looks like the scales on the RSK Mk3 are flush with the tang vs BM#151 Fixed Grip where the scales are some what short of flush?

Firing an email off to Aeromedix about ordering, and a pm to Critter. Man, I might have to put off getting that Camp Tramp this month!

Too bad its only in S30V. If they released it in M2 or D2 Id be on it like dog spit on a tennis ball.

This knife is gonna rock! Orders start 9 am Monday MDT. First 100 are LE pedigrees at $175, rest are $165. I'm gonna be in line for this one, love the blade shape and S30V ... grind is excellent. :D

I don't really see the similarities between the temp and ritter. The ritter's blade profile is classic ritter (as well as the finish), and the handle looks different (shape) and is G10 instead of FRN. All in all, I don't think they are especially more similar than any other similar sized FB.

I don't mean to be argumentive, just something to think about.

I look at it and I see a fixed blade Ritter knife.

Should be a great cutter and more than serviceable for EDC where allowed.

Price is a bit high; but, as a relatively limited production piece, I don't see it being unreasonable.

It looks like the Ritter blade profile put on the griptilian folder, only now it's the Ritter blade profile put on the griptilian fixed blade.

I think you guys are missing that he doesn't think it's a copy of the Temperance, only that they are similar knives, and they are.

how are they similar, they're stainless drop points with black handles. The Mk3 doesn't have the same point orientation, handle construction, indexing holes, grip shape, or anything else that made the Temperance the Temperance.

That is correct. Also, no ridges on the edges of the scales as on the Fixed Grip.

Oh, I definitely get that he isn't making the claim that they're being copied, and I respect that. I'll clarify--I don't think they're similar at all (even in the non copying sense). No offense was meant in my initial post (or in this one, of course).

This is going on my wish list! I came to these forums for the first time via Doug Ritter. I was re-doing my first aid kits based on information on his website and decided to check out what he had to say about knives. One thing led to another and now I own several Benchmade's (an 806D2 and two Griptilians), a Gerber Yari and a full-flat ground Ranger Knives Ready Detachment 7 from Sage Outfitters (not to mention a couple Gransfors Bruks hatchets and miscellaneous sharpening paraphenalia).

FWIW, I did some searching using Google's "Froogle" tool and didn't come up with many S30V fixed blades in the $100 to $200 space, and no similar ones (mostly Buck hunting knives and more "tactical" offerings).
