I am setting up a knife as shown in the following picture (I downloaded the picture online. I believe it belongs to pelahale on youtube).

Doug Ritter RSK MK1 Stone Washed M390 $139.95 free shipping:

I've been there, done that. I would say no. I prefer to watch the Exchange and get a Wilkins Ritter for $200ish nowadays. Those Wilkins titanium scales are very nice but quite hefty. They made my knife too handle heavy, IMO, so I flipped it. Just my two cents.

Good luck in your decision!

If you're ok spending that much and having a knife that you would be lucky to turn around and sell the next day for $200 then go for it. I would highly recommend against it though. If you want a nice Griptilian buy a new G10 Grip with CPM20 steel. Even those are a bit pricey but a much better investment than piecing together what you're trying to do.

I was seriously considering that as well. Ultimately, I think I've decided to get a small micarta Sebenza. As much as I love Benchmades with the Axis lock, I just can't bring myself to spend that much on one. Also, despite how great Benchmade's warranty and customer service is in practice, I'm reluctant to buy a knife with the express intention of immediately voiding the warranty (granted, Benchmade will usually take care of you anyway). As people have already stated, for that much money, you're in Sebenza territory and it doesn't get much better than CRK's quality, warranty and customer service.

If that's what you want and you have the money - go for it. You're not buying it to resell. You're buying it because it's what you want.

Can you buy other knives for that amount? Sure. So just make sure it's something you really want.

If only they use M390 for their blades. Currently they are using S35N.

Link says M390.

For me it would not be worth it but as it being worth it to you? Only you can answer that question. I got my Lrg Seb 21 with Micarta inlays on the exchange for $385. That is worth it. Sorry, there are too many other blades out right now for that to make sense for me but I own sooo many knives that most folks would deem "not worth it". If it is your dream knife? Don't settle. You will always wonder. Get what you want!

To me? No. That much money can get you such a wide variety of knives or other gear- but ultimately, it's a luxury good. If you want it, but can't stomach the price, don't buy it. 349.05$ can get you quite a lot in the wide, wide world of spo- er, I mean knives.

@Craytab
He said that the Sebenza had s35vn and wished it was m390 instead (you got it mixed up).

I think what it comes down to is, that's an awful lot of money for that particular knife, and most of us would make a different choice. However, if you love it, and it speaks to you, go for it. Buy what makes you happy. 99% of non-forum-members would think we're all crazy anyway for most of our purchases.

Without a doubt. Something we forget when breaking down the ins and outs of knives sometimes.

I briefly had a Ritter Mini with AWT scales. They made the knife feel much better in hand, but also made it a while oz heavier, and the whole package just wasn't that great.

I have a large Ritter Grip with custom G10 scales with Carbon Fiber inlays. It opens and closes like a dream! The axis lock rocks and I have it hair popping sharp using my Wicked Edge. My Sebenzas are sharp but for some reason I just can't get them as sharp. I'm sure it's in my technique somewhere. If I had to pick one to carry all the time based on all facts I'd pick the Ritter Grip. I have $315 in the grip and while some may question that price, it is light years better than the stock version. But in the end you'll have a great knife no matter which you choose!
