River of Fire Trilogy - Complete

Here's some history from CRK about the project which was limited to 10 large Sebenzas, 17 small Sebenzas and 17 Mnandis.

“It was several years ago that Bill Burke supplied Chris Reeve Knives with three billets of his “River of Fire” Damascus. Bill and Chris had been talking at a show and agreed that it would be an interesting project to use Damascus of a new pattern that Bill had developed. Time passed and we could not put our fingers on the right way to market the blades but finally we found it!"

Three parts to an Idaho Collaboration:

Bill Burke has spent virtually all his life in Idaho. An avid outdoorsman, Bill began making knives in 1998. He achieved his ABS Journeyman status in 2003 and became a Master Smith in 2008.

Chris Reeve Knives has been located in Boise, Idaho since March 1989 when Chris and Anne Reeve emigrated from their native South Africa.

The Syringa is Idaho’s State Flower. From somewhere (he has no recollection of where!) Chris obtained a block of Syringa wood.

Beautiful , and so rare - the prize of a collection !! Thanks for sharing.

Very nice. I can imagine the time and money it took. Congrats and that is a trio that I hope never gets split up.

MVG- thanks for the background story! I find it interesting to know where certain inlays or blade steels originate. Every knife has a story.....

Damn you new truck, damn you!!!

Okay.... I'm on a knife buying hiatus since my old truck died and I had to replace it. When I did, my wife said I should give up on my collecting for a while. I had that covered until I saw your river of fire knives.

Congratulations. Those are special knives and even now I'm plotting how to snag one under the radar!

A small seb ROF was for sale on the forum today at a fair price and I almost pulled the trigger, but decided against another safe queen. Congrats to Paltak for snagging it.

Just to have one of those would be great, what you have put together is awesome!
Thanks for sharing.
