This is the start of a continuing series of high end knives for me, as time permits. Next, I'm planning a large (9"-10" blade) damascus Hunting Claw. I'm getting confident enough now in my work to make the big, fancy damascus knives I've always wanted to. I hope you like it.

River Run Bowie
This Bowie knife has a 9" full distal tapered blade of 1,000 layer high carbon/wrought iron "heartbeat" damascus (1084, 15N20, L-6, wrought iron)with a false top bevel. The total length is 15". The S-guard and pommel are both 250 layer "random" damascus (1084, 15N20, L-6), both with file work accents. The handle is premium Sambar stag with a throat of stabilized buffalo horn and copper/black spacers. The knife is finished off with an Onyx cabochon on the pommel with a sterling silver setting. The fully tooled leather blade sheath, By Tess, has three shark skin inlays and a nickle post.
Price, with leather sheath: $1,200.00, plus shipping.

That was a good move J! I keep coming back to this one too. Now I guess I'll wait to see Coop's pic to add to my gallery... :D That's about all I can afford. I have a great collection of knife pictures. ;)

Here it is. As is normal, Coop did a great job. He's been swamped but, he was nice enough to sqeeze this one in for me. I hope he's set up at Timonium again so I can have him do a photo for my next "Grey Skies" Bowie, too. :D

J,

Happy to see you taking on those big knife projects. A lot of time and skill went into this beautiful piece, your love of the craft shows.
