Rj Martin All CNC Flipper

so..........what youre really saying here is something we have know all along.

You gotta put in 10 hours to get a 8 hour day finished!!!!:p

Tom: Yes, as makers we understand this. Regardless of how we make our parts, there is generally a lot of time consuming hand work that goes into the finished knife.

RJM - Great post!

Thanks for posting all of that info RJ. In addition to the larger point made about CNC as a response to the stuff that was thrown around in the Guild thread, it's great to see some of the steps that go into a knife laid out like that. I think one's appreciation for knifemaking, no matter what kind of knives you like, can't help but be deepened by it.

Great post RJ! That should go a long way to explaining a few things... when I see those "just screw it together" posts, I want to scream.

Thanks for the tutorial. You should put the information on your website.

I know that the pics are no longer working, but I'm bumping this old thread due to its educational value as well as its awesomeness.

Without the images, this thread sacrifices a great deal of its educational value. Bumping it now causes each viewer some frustration along with whatever good they get from reading. Some folks will open the thread, see the pics are gone, close the thread and move on. Unfortunate.

I was ALSO wondering why no pics...then noticed this thread was resurrected from over 3 years ago!

The subject is just as relevant though!

Peter

Even without the pictures there is a wealth of knowledge and information in this thread.
