Purchased in 2013 from a seller here on BF (or it may have been Usual Suspects) in pre-owned condition. Carried & used carefully.
In early 2017, shipped to RJ for a spa…his report was “Cleaned, new bearings, blasted the slip, replaced worn screws and sharpened her.”
Not much use since then. The edge RJ put on the blade is so perfect I avoided actually cutting anything with it (other than compulsively shaving the hairs on my forearm), so no sharpening either. For a few years now the knife has occupied a place of honor in the gun safe.
So it’s still in “recent spa” condition, though to be clear, it’s a user, made by RJ at least a dozen years ago. I’ll try to show/exaggerate the dings in the photos, but in case they don’t show up: In good light you can see marks here and there on the scales from being carried, especially on the end above the pocket clip where it tends to get bumped. The clip itself looks good with a few small nicks on the edges. The blade looks pristine.
Detent, lockup, centering are all good. Detent/firing is set at “gentlemanly” per RJ, fast and smooth, and it makes me wonder what his “rocket-fast” would be like.
Handles are Ti “Brickyard.” Blade steel is not shown on the blade, but I’m guessing S30V. (I’ve seen identical examples on the interwebs from circa 2010 that are represented as S30V. If anyone can confirm or correct this based on the pictures please sing out.)
Comes with the Bill’s case as shown.
