RMD vs 511?

I forgot to cast a vote.
All right - let's have a show of handles....
Hmmm, I've got one 511, and 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 (or more) RMDs in various forms (including infi)
Yup - RMD!

+1.....it's too short for me. I would definitely try to hold one before you make your choice.

Thanks for the comparison pics. Like you, I'm not too worried about the choil. My favorite Busse is my SOB and it looks like it has a similar sized choil. Not use able but the blade isn't big enough that it really needs a usable finger choil anyway.

I have a Military Overrun 511 that I just love. The choil shape and blade grind are slightly different than the standard 511. The choil is less pronounced (shallower) and it has a full height flat grind. I also thinned the edge down some. The small handle is a compromise for me, but I find it to be worth the compromise.

I also love my RMDs.

 
It sure would be cool if O2W would produce an INFI version. I have a new found love for SR101 but I do have a stainless/black rubber gripped pistol that needs a matching companion knife.

If I only had to have the one (nooooo say it could not be so !!!) it would have to be the RMD. That said I do like the 511 as well. It is notably lighter and has a totally different balance. ResC is great as well. Many have found the 511 grip too small (I am OK with it) however.
 
I counted mine, that I posted earlier I had lost count. I've only got 8. :( if you count Jackmandus, then 10. I think I need at least one more SMD and one more IMD.
 
511 and RMD are like brothers from a diff't mother. Glad I have both.

RMD is certainly more robust with the full tang and micarta. 511 is the same great steel in a much lighter package.

If I had to choose I'd go RMD. I'm hard on stuff.
