RMJ shrike or Winkler II Combat axe?

I'm not sure either fit in the outdoor use catagory they could both be used sure, But it's not what there designed for.
Maybe look into the gransfors we all know they have some of the best woods tools out there and most of them are less money than the winkler or rmj.

Cool thread for me- just got a Winkler Belt Knife and a hawk is calling me!

A year ago I had 7 Winkler tomahawks and 0 RMJs
Now I have 8 RMJs and only one Winkler

Both are great hawks, made by great guys, and the makers of both are friends with one another. The friendly competition keeps both on top of their respective game's. I still love my one and only Winkler, but RMJ is what goes with me in the field every time. Make an effort to hold both as their is no comparison for first hand intel, and tools/weapons are very personal choices.
Good luck on your quest, and rest knowing that no matter which you choose, it will be the very best tomahawk money can buy.

It was a collaboration hawk that was base on an enlarged version of Daniel's Hunter axe, there was also a shorter version which I had but traded into another of the one I kept. They collaborated again using the combat axe as the platform, and basically turned the spike into a hammer poll to make it more efficient in the woods, it's called the Combat Axe LT (tapered tang) and there is an HD (untapered tang).

The one I kept I really liked and manager to acquire three at one point, and one of the smaller style. The keeper is second from the right...

After mulling over the two pieces, I finally pulled the trigger on a shrike. I got the shipping notice monday and it should have it in my hands by next week!
