Road Trip to Canal Street Cutlery and Wawarsing Knife Museum (added museum pics)

What an amazing thread, thanks Glen! What I wouldn't give for a VIP tour like that. It's great to see behind the scenes at CSC, I've always felt that they create a superior knife!!!

Glenn, thanks for the excellent virtual tour. Reminds me to never take a traditional knife for granted!

Thank you for taking time to record your trip and tour and sharing it here!

It was a great start to my Friday!

Thanks again Glenn -

A wonderful virtual tour for us on the far side of the pond. Great pictures. Thanks Glenn!

+1 indeed :)
It's nice to hold a knife and have seen where and how it was built. I do like my CSC quite much: it's a very nice knife and a cherished gift as well. Wish they came out with new patterns more often though :) so......did you hear anything about a non-stag version of Eric's jack?
Thanks for the tour!

Thanks everyone, it was my pleasure to share these pics, and a true thrill for me.

I don't know about a non-stag version of Eric's Jack, but I sure hope at some point Eric will share pics of his own personal work that he showed us. It was great looking stuff, I would buy one from him in a second.

It's great to see behind the scenes at CSC, I've always felt that they create a superior knife!!!

I think CSC is working hard to change some of the early perception of their product. While making great looking knives, they were criticized for spring strength and finishing issues. In talking with Eric, it seems to me that the approach has evolved to make sure that the quality is up front leaving the building, that should lead to less trips back to the factory. You can tell that Eric is proud of every knife he assembles, and it shows in the product.

That was fantastic, Glen. I just love the specialized machines and the ones brought back into operation from Schrade! I can imagine even some of the wooden boxes have been used for years. Thanks so much for putting this together and I wish the best to CSC and all the wonderful people there.

What a treat...thanks again!!!

That's my kitchen table Jack, from over your way in about 1550 ish. My work bench is far too messy to use :D

LOL! :D  Blimey, that's an old one Robin! Incredible. Hope it's got many more years left to go :)

Glen A big thank you for taking the time to share your trip. I am not much of a traveler but feel like I just took a trip of a life time. Is there a Forum supporter that sells CSC?
