Road Trip to Titusville, PA

Great trip to see you do Travis, brings back great memories of when Paul and I went there to the GEC Rendezvous
Hope to see you and Paul at one of the future Rendezvous’s. I think we started to go to the Rendezvous in 2018 a year or so after you went. I was definitely inspired to go to my first one by some of the pictures and videos that were shared here on the forum.

Like EVERYTHING about that knife and more, got to be the best of the 86 family

You are very fortunate to live close enough to GEC for a visit - dream of thousands....and many thanks for showing us round.

Regards, Will
It took 6 hours to drive to the GEC factory from central Virginia where we are staying with my parents-in-law while our floors are being refinished. We were at the factory for about two hours and then drove straight back. So it was an all day trip and we were beat the next day. However, I try not to complain too much because I know it is my choice to make the trip and most folks would have a lot longer of a trek. An occasional road trip is good for the soul. Pennsylvania is a beautiful state to drive through.

Nice visit/tour Travis - thanks for bringing us along!!!
Those #86 pattern knives are bringing a lot of joy - you went at a perfect time!!
I'm saving that pic of Bill working on the Riders, if you don't mind!! I'll pay the copyright fees!!! 🤣

Bill Howard was kind enough to come talk with us in the store. He likes to hear about why anyone would come that far for a pocket knife.

Here is Bill later that afternoon finishing some knives. These look to be the Waynorth Harness Jacks for Charle Campagna.

Thanks for the pics and trip report. Love the photo of Bill working on the Waynorths! So cool.

Awesome trip and photos! One day I'll make it over there!

Nice one

With petrol, wear and tear on the motor and other expenses probably the most costly 86s ever, but well worth it.😍

I would have asked Bill if he minded while I waited and he finished one of those for me. 😂
I made that same joke a few years ago while he was giving a factory tour. They were working on the Appaloosa bone Maher & Grosh 29’s. Bill didn’t even crack a smile. He is a serious dude.

I will have to look into planning a tour myself, I live three hours away, sounds like a good trip on the Nightster.
I wonder, does the factory store have any knives for sale or is it just like the website, devoid of knives available, only trinkets and openers?

I too don't live too far and would like to plan a trip. But was also curious if they regularly have store models for sale. Would be cool to pick one up from the factory as a souvenir of sorts for the trip!

there are several display cases in the shop, the side one is for mostly the S knives, and the front is mainly error free. These are observations from rendezvous times as ive never passed by during non rendezvous times.
