road trip, whiskey, some big sharks and an Izula

"some big sharks"
All the more reason for ESEE to launch their line of stainless knives!:)

Nice job mate! By the way, a few mates and I are planning a road trip, Sydney to Perth. I hear they don't let you through certain roads if you haven't got a 4WD. I can understand that in the Northern Territory, and that the roads can be horrific but through SA/WA? cheers.

Cheers for the comments guys!
The trip was done by Calypso Star Charters, it cost us $500AUS for the day. The whiskey was a bottle of 10 year old Jamesons. And if your going south across the Eyre Highway then you don't need a 4x4, its all sealed road, we did it in a late model hilux that is 2 wheel drive. Although if we did have one it wold have made more areas accessible!

Damn that IS a big shark! I've also always had a fascination sharks but I dunno about doing the cage diving thing...I probably would, but fear I'd soil my wetsuit if one of them beasts snuck up behind me!

BTW did you catch any sharks? Shark meat is awesome!

nah no time for fishing, unfortunately :(... too busy diving and taking pics. I gotta say it was spooky how stealthy the Great Whites were. We had about 5 people on the fly bridge on look out and we had good visibility, but these sharks would come out of no where! We'd only spot them when they were right up on the surface, same as in the cage. You'd be looking all around and one second there'd be just the deep blue and quite literally the next second there'd be this massive mouth full of teeth right where you just looked! It was very impressive and also made us realize how far out of our element we humans are in the ocean.
on another note..I just want to say this board is great!, I've been on here reading for a while, lots of great info and a great bunch of people. I need to master getting pics up here, cos i got plenty more hiking and outdoorsy type pics to share, and lots of knife pics of course!
